The federal government has announced that the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE) declaration will end on May 11, 2023. You could be wondering what this means to your coverage on COVID-19 vaccines, PCR and home antigen tests and treatment. Rest assured. We’ve got you covered.
For CCHP members in Individual and Family, Covered California, and Employer Group plans:
- You can continue to access COVID-19 vaccines, tests and medically necessary treatments at no cost within or outside of your plan’s provider network until November 11, 2023.
- You will continue to have the same coverage if you receive service within your plan’s provider network after November 11, 2023.

For CCHP members in Medicare Advantage plans, after May 11, 2023:
- COVID-19 vaccines will continue to be covered at no cost.
- COVID-19 PCR testing will be covered with applicable plan out-of-pocket costs.
- COVID-19 home test kits will no longer be covered.
- COVID-19 treatment will be covered with applicable plan out-of-pocket costs when conducted within the network.

Do you have Medi-Cal or know someone who does?
The end of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE) declaration also means Medi-Cal will resume its annual renewal screenings to make sure people continue to qualify. This is called the Medi-Cal Redetermination. You are encouraged to act before you find out you are without coverage when you need it most.
If you are no longer eligible for Medi-Cal, please contact us right away about our affordable CCHP Balance plans to minimize disruptions to access to care.
